Ashe was born in Tehran, Iran. She immigrated to the United States when she was nine months old. Ashe grew up in Powell, Ohio, right next to the state capital, Columbus. She participates in theatrical productions of her high school as an actress and director. She received a BA in Fine Arts from Boston University School of Drama, and also trained at the Academy of Music and Drama in London and the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York.
